WiFi will not connect

The phone does not connect to the WiFi or drops the connection unexpectedly.

WiFi may be faulty

Check the WiFi router to verify that it is working properly. Try connecting another device. If the WiFi is not working properly, contact your provider.

Device WiFi may be turned off

Got to Settings -> WiFi and verify that WiFi is turned on. You may need to go tap on the advanced settings and select "Keep WiFi on during sleep."

Go to Settings -> WiFi. Turn the WiFi off and then back on.

Go to Settings -> WiFi and find the desired network. Tap and hold on the network and tap "Forget network." Now reconnect to the network.

Reboot your phone. To do so, hold the power button and press "Restart."

The device may require an update

To update the firmware, go to Settings -> About -> System update and tap "Check update."

The device may have encountered a major problem

If nothing else works, you may have to perform a factory reset.

WARNING: a reset will remove all data, apps, and personal information.

Go to Settings -> Backup & reset -> Factory data reset and tap "Reset phone."

Cellular data does not connect

Phone does not connect to carrier service

Your data provider may not be providing service

Contact your mobile provider to ensure that they are providing service to your SIM card.

Firmware is not up to date

To update the firmware, go to Settings -> About -> System update and tap "Check update."

Data may connect after using airplane mode

Turn your phone off and remove the SIM card. To remove the SIM card, open the compartment on the left side of the device and take it out. Return the SIM card and turn your phone back on. Turn on Airplane mode, wait 3 seconds, and turn Airplane mode back off. Wait for data reconnection.

Camera shutter sound does not stop

After taking a picture, the shutter sound continues to play

An error may have occurred with the camera application

To manually close the camera application, tap the multiview button on the bottom right of the screen and slide the camera off the screen.

An error may have occurred with the device

Reboot your phone. To do so, hold the power button and press "Restart."

Camera sound is the issue

Launch the camera app, go to the gear icon in the upper-left corner, and disable “Camera Sound.”

Pictures do not save to microSD card

The phone does not save pictures to a microSD card

MicroSD card may not be properly installed

Open the compartment on the side of the device and remove the microSD card. Check the orientation and put it back in.

Settings may not be set to save to microSD

Make sure that the camera settings are saving images to the card. This can be done by pressing the gear icon in the camera app, selecting “Save to”, and then selecting your microSD card.

There may be an error with the device

If the card still does not register, save all data on your phone and perform a factory reset of your device.

MicroSD card may be incompatible

If none of these solutions work, your microSD card may be incompatible with your device, and you will need to buy another one.

Phone does not recognize SIM card

The phone does not recognize when a sim card is put in the phone

An error may have occurred with the device

Reboot your phone. To do so, hold the power button and press "Restart."

The SIM card may be improperly aligned

Open the compartment on the left side of the device. Remove the SIM card and re-insert it.

The SIM card may be dirty

Remove the SIM card (see above). Clean the SIM card with an electronics cleaner, preferably something higher in alcohol content so no residue will get in the way.

The SIM card’s pins might also be bent. Try gently lifting them up with a toothpick or a small tool, as they are very fragile. Only do this if the above does not work.

The carrier may not be providing service

Ensure that all bills have been paid and check with your wireless carrier.

Sometimes you may have connectivity issues with the Wifi because of the router! You can unplug it for 15-20 seconds then plug it back in and turn it on, and try to connect your device again.
