Computer will not power on
You have trouble with the computer not powering on.
Defective battery
Check to see if battery is dead by plugging in the laptop charger. If the laptop turns on while it is plugged in, but the battery is not charging, then the battery is defective. Please refer to defective battery replacement guide for the Asus UL30VT-X1.
Wiring might be faulty
If you press the power button and the computer does not power on, then there could be a chance that the wiring is faulty. There might be a possible rip or tear in the wire which can be covered with electrical tape to prevent a short. The other problem might be that the wiring is just not right so the computer might be broken.
Display not showing graphics
The computer screen does not show anything but the computer is on.
Faulty display
Turn on the computer to see if the display will appear or not. If the computer turns on but the display still remains off or very dim, the display could have a problem.
Backlight to screen is faulty
If the backlight to the screen is broken, then the computer will still turn on but the screen will remain dark. The backlight can be replaced by a new one.
Computer has overheating issue
Your fan is not cooling your computer because it is faulty or not clean.
Fan is faulty
Power on the computer and if the bottom starts to become really hot, then your fan might be defective.
Fan is dirty
Power on the computer and listen for the fan. If the fan is running slow or not cooling your computer enough, then it might be dirty. You will need to clean the fan out.
Computer turns on but does not boot
Your computer turns on and displays the loading screen but does not get past that screen.
Hard drive is faulty
Power on the computer to see if it will get past the loading screen.If it does not, then there might be a problem with the hard drive. Please refer to the hard drive replacement guide for the Asus UL30VT-X1.
Computer freezes, bluescreens, or crashes
After using your computer for a period of time, it will restart, freeze, or bluescreen.
RAM is faulty
If you are using your computer and it just freezes, crashes, reboots, or has a bluescreen, then the RAM sticks in your computer could be faulty. Please refer to the RAM stick replacement guide for the Asus UL30VT-X1.
