Laptop Does Not Turn On.
The laptop does not boot up.
Charging cable is not working
The charging cable being used to charge the laptop is damaged or not plugged in properly. Ensure the charger is plugged into a power source and the other end into the charging port of the laptop.
Wrong screen settings
You have it set the display to a different monitor that isn't the main laptop screen.
Faulty power supply
The power source the charger is using to charge your laptop isn't stable or working properly. Make sure the main power source you are using (such as a wall outlet or power strip) is not damaged or broken.
The screen is broken
The laptop may be turned on but the screen does not light up in response.
Faulty battery
The battery must be replaced with a new one.
Laptop has no audio.
No sound comes from the laptop.
Check sound settings
Navigate to the Windows search bar and type "Sound Settings." At the top of the page will be a selection for "Output Device." Choose the correct output device for your audio. Ensure the device is not muted by checking through the "Sound Control Panel" section. Within "Sound Control Properties", select your audio device and go to "Properties." Under "Levels", move the slidebar to the right to enable sound. Click "Ok" to save this change.
Reinstall Driver
An outdated driver can cause audio issues. Navigate to the Windows search bar and type "Device Manager."Click on "Audio inputs and outputs" and select your audio device. Select "Enable device." If this prompt does not appear, the system recognizes the device properly.
Restore BIOS
Do the BIOS thing.
Laptop fan making grinding noise.
The laptop fan is making strange sounds.
Clean the fan
Particulates and small objects can clog the fan of your computer and cause problems. Open the laptop to clean the fan of debris and dust. Check this guide for disassembling the ASUS Q524U.
Fan is broken
Open the laptop to replace the fan entirely.
Malware and viruses
Malware can cause your computer to run unnecessary and memory-taxing programs, causing overheating and its fan to fail. Remove malware by installing anti-virus software.
Loose Display Connector.
The laptop's touchscreen is not responding promptly to input.
Restart laptop
Too many programs running can cause a lag between the sensors of the screen and GUI. Restarting your computer can resolve this.
Install Updates
Check for updates and install them. Out of date software may affect screen performance.
Dirty Screen
Dirt and debris can confuse the touchscreen. Wipe the screen gently with a clean cloth and wash your hands before using the touch screen.
Keyboard not working.
The keyboard does not display the user's inputs.
Hinges Have Broken.
The laptop has been dropped and one of the hinges is now broken.
Replace Hinges
The hinges on the Asus Q524U are designed to allow the screen to fold all the way back until the screen seems like an iPad. If a hinge is broken then it must be replaced.
