Is your Amazon Echo Glow unresponsive to voice commands through Amazon Alexa? Use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Amazon Echo Glow is Not Powered On
Make sure the device is plugged in , and be sure to use the 5-Watt power adapter that comes with the device. This will ensure that the device will power on correctly. If this does not work, try using a different outlet. If the Amazon Echo Glow still does not respond to voice commands, it may be due to a faulty power adaptor or cable.
Please refer to our power adaptor and cable replacement guide.
Amazon Echo Glow is Offline and Not Paired to the Alexa App
The Amazon Echo Glow works exclusively with Amazon Alexa. The Amazon Alexa app is only compatible with Fire OS, Android and IOS devices. If the Alexa app says the device is “offline” , try deleting the device off the app and pair the smart lamp again.
Amazon Alexa Microphone is Obstructed
The Amazon Echo Glow does not have a dedicated microphone. Instead, it uses Amazon Alexa to listen for voice commands. Oftentimes, the Amazon Alexa is obstructed by household furniture or background noise. This limits Alexa's ability to receive verbal commands through the microphone. To make sure that Alexa hears you , try moving Alexa away from any walls, plants, large furniture pieces, background noise or speakers. Then, try giving Alexa a voice command by saying “Hello” or “Did you hear me”.
Amazon Alexa App is not Up to Date
If the Amazon Alexa app is not up to date, users may experience performance issues with their smart devices and home controls. To make sure that the Alexa app is up to date, check your mobile device app store and check for any updates.
