Battery Not Charging

The speaker was working normally and now dies when unplugged.

Power Adapter Connection

The battery might not be charging due to the power cord not being fully plugged into the speaker or the wall socket. Ensure that the plug is firmly plugged into the speaker and the wall. If there is still no indication of power, test the wall socket is working by plugging in another device into the wall that is known to be in working condition.

Faulty Power Adapter

Check that the power adapter is completely plugged into the wall and firmly seated into the device. If there is no status light while plugged in verify with another wall outlet. If the problem persist consider buying a replacement AC adapter.

Damaged charging port

If you have followed the steps under Faulty Power Adapter and are still having issues, it is possible that your charging port is obstructed or damaged. Use a can of compressed air to gently blow debris out of the charging port. If your unit still fails to charge, there is likely damage to the port. Please follow the charging port replacement guide.

Faulty battery

If your device functions properly while plugged in properly but will power off as soon as the device is unplugged. The battery could be faulty and would need a replacement.

Device Will Not Power On

If you have completed all the steps in battery not charging and the device still does not power on.

Dead Battery

If the BoomJacket 2 does not power on when you press the power button, it could mean that the battery has been completely drained. Plug the power adapter into both the speaker and a working wall receptacle. If the charging status light appears and the device powers on, the battery was drained and will need to be fully charged.

Faulty Power Button

If the status light is on when plugged in and the device is fully charged, but will not power on the power button could be damaged. Try pressing the power button from alternate angles. If the device remains off see our power button replacement guide.

Audio is Distorted

The audio is distorted, buzzy, quiet, inconsistent.

Individual Speaker Obstruction/Damage

If only one speaker is distorted or non-functioning, then it is likely that the speaker itself is malfunctioning or damaged in some way. First make sure the speaker is not obstructed in any way. The speaker facing a wall or object may affect the sound quality. If this does not work look at the speaker itself, make sure it is clean and has no residue, if the speaker is dirty you can access it by following the speaker grill removal guide. Be cautious when cleaning, speakers are fragile. If this does not work you may need replace the speaker following the speaker access guide.

Speaker Unplugged

It is possible that one, or both, of the speakers could be disconnected from the motherboard. If this is the case, follow the BoomJacket 2 disassembly guide and ensure the connecter from both speakers is firmly plugged into the motherboard.

Auxiliary Port Problems

If all speakers are distorted in the same way and you are using the 3.5 mm auxiliary port for audio connection, then it is likely a problem in the port or cable. Ensure the plug is connected fully into the port on the device and to your input device. If this does not fix the issue, check the issue with another cable. If this does not solve the issue, attempt using a different input device. If issue is still not solved consider replacing the audio jack.

Bluetooth Loses Connection

Unable to connect to device via bluetooth or lost connection to device after already being connected.

Radio Interference

Check to see how many devices are near your speaker. It is possible the other radio frequency waves could interfere will your connection, such as cell phones, radios, computers, T.V.s, or even your refrigerator. It is also possible that physical objects get in the way, such as walls. Make sure the bluetooth connected device is within fifty feet of your speaker, and free from any physical obstruction.

Poor Bluetooth Signal

If you are receiving a poor connection, with little to no interference, it is possible the bluetooth adapter on the motherboard needs to be replaced.

Microphone does not work during phone calls

The device will not listen as you speak while you are on a phone call.

Damaged Microphone

Connect your phone to the device using bluetooth and talk your voice helper i.e. Siri, Alexa.Ensure that your phone is either in an active voice call or being prompted by the assistant. If you receive no feedback, then there could be an issue with your microphone, and it may need replacing.

Bought the altec lansing Bluetooth speaker and will stay on for 30-60 minutes then turn off after being fully charged then when I plug the charger in and turn it on it will then stay on until battery is dead or turned off when it’s unplugged.
