Haven’t used my notebook in a few years.  Does the D255E series require a battery?  When I open the battery bay, I don’t see anything.   Got a new mouse but it won’t work either.  When I turn on the notebook, the screen will open after I put in my password but can’t get the mouse to work.

When ever laptop is connected to charging point, it shows that ‘plugged in, battery is not charging’. Before that it showed that ‘battery needs replacement’.

Is the charging system is ok so that if I change the battery, it will work?
