Laptop Will Not Power On

The power button does not power on the computer and the computer shows no signs of responding.

Dead Battery

If the device does not turn on when hitting the power button the battery may be dead. Ensure that the device is plugged into a power source. The charging cord should display a light if the computer is charging.

Malfunctioning Battery

If the computer is plugged into a power source and continues not to charge, the battery of the device is malfunctioning. To fix it, replace the battery with a new one following the Acer Aspire 3000 Battery Replacement guide.

No Images Appear On The Screen

The computer turns on but the screen is black

Brightness Turned All the Way Down

If the computer is turned on and the screen is still black, it is possible the display brightness is turned all the way down. Press Fn key to increase the brightness of the screen.

The Device is in Sleep Mode

If the device is on but the screen shows no display it is possible the computer went into sleep mode. Try pressing the power button to wake it back up.

The Screen is Failing

No sound can be heard from the device

The Speakers Are Muted

The first step in resolving any sound issues is to open up the laptop’s audio controls and verify that the sound is not muted, and that audio is set to play out of the computer’s internal speakers. Restart the computer, and if the issue still persists check that all of the computer’s audio software is up to date, such as the operating system and device drivers.

The Speakers Are Not Functioning

Device Overheating

The device feels warm/hot and the vents are blowing hot air.

Too Many Programs are Running

Clogged Fan Processor

how do I replace the motherboard?

Aspire 3000, plug it in and the battery light is on in green, it will charge and will not cut on. Also have toshiba C55, bought it off a woman, her husband passed, she not know password on bios, I have done everything including a jump wire on board beside ram, any help for these greatly needed, Thank you and please be safe.
