This model shipped with a defective LG monitor. You can find story after story on Reddit. The screen starts to 'gray out' usually in one corner of the screen. Then a sticky goop starts coming out of the monitor. The computer is still usable during this period, but you lose more and more screen area until the device becomes unusable. I was very excited to buy this Pixel. I like to buy high-end and then keep a device for a long time. Unfortunately, Google has a poor track record with its hardware. And the fact that they EOL chromebook devices prematurely is the last straw. I used to suggest chromebooks to non power users. But I don't anymore because of the EOL issue. Since my Pixel is near death anyway, I'm going to attempt my first such repair on this thing and try installing Ubuntu. We'll see. Sorry for your loss.
