this could be a tone ring issue. Fords are known for this. I f your service brake system light is on , if you can look under the car and inside all four wheels there is a small gear looking metal part around the axel immediately iside the rim pressed around the axel. If any of theses are loose ormissing that is the problem. If you cant do the inspection, go to auto zone or another local parts house, most will run a diagnostic check for you for free. Good luck
This could be a tone ring-speed sensor issue. take it to Auto Zone and have them run a diagniostic scan on it for you. It is (usaully) a free service they will run for you . Good Luck
Im not sure on all years but on my 07 escape it is located in the back left (drivers side) quarter panel. To access it ,you need to pull the plastic cover pieces on the inside of your rear hatch. They are push pins so pull carefully with your hands working it from the edges. There are some very good videos on you tube specifically for this Good Luck
There are a couple reasons it may shut down. The motor may be overheating. You can check by turning on the dryer and wait for it to shut down, try immediately restarting the dryer. if it wont start then wait ten minutes and try again. if it starts then more than lijkely the motor is overheating. another is a moicture sensor telling the dryer there is too much moisture in the dryer. If it will run empty without shutting down, more than likely a bad moisture sensor. A bad belt which if the drum turns its not the belt. Try the lint filter and make sure it is clean. Good luck
check your tone rings (speed sensors) on all four drive axels. The tone rings look like a gear on the backside of each wheel assembly and the rings should be solid to the shaft with no play or cracks. Sensors can be tested with a multi meter for volts and resistance.
