Hi, if your engine light its blinking on the dash while you are cruising and the car it's hesitating, it means that you have 1 or more misfiring cylinders. That may be for several reasons: check your sparks, sparks plugs or ignition coil. Then if is all good check you fuel pump and filter, and be sure to have the correct pressure on the injectors and all working. In any case it's very useful an OBD Scanner, because it could tell you exactly which cylinder is failing so you can focus in that one. That's the easy and less expensive thing. if it's all good, it may be a head gasket or worst, timing belt or an endless list of possibilities.
Hi, it's perfectly normal, the security alarm system (after market or OEM) works preventing the fuel pump to operate while it it is engaged. In order to start your car you have to first turn your alarm off. You could try: 1. unlocking your car and being 100% sure the alarm is disarmed whit the control. (If it's OEM there are some system to disarm the alarm open the driver door whit the key. 2. Searching on the fusile compartment, under the dash on the left side of the car, for any relay or fusile labeled like alarm or something like that. Just take it off. But this only work in OEM alarm systems. 3. in case you are still in trouble or the alarm system it's after market sometimes works unplugging the whole thing. You would have to find it first, normally is under the dash, on the driver side, look for a small plastic box with severals plugs & cables, labeled with a security system mark or just with out any label. Best of lucks.
