On some Kenmore dishwashers, hold in the start button until cycle button lights up AND WAIT two minutes before dishwasher starts. The owners manual will explain how to start the dishwasher. If the control panel lights up, more than likely there’s nothing wrong with the dishwasher.

Per saperne di piùYou have an older washer. By now the agitator dogs are loose and broken. Most people will never notice this problem because everything appears normal. Agitator dogs will go out at least once in the lifespan of the washer. The agitator has two parts. The top and bottom. The top half turns in one direction only to pull clothes down from the center. The bottom half agitate back-and-forth to scrub clothes. When “the dogs” go bad, the top half of the agitator will not lock in place to move in one direction only. If you can stop the agitator by hand while clothes are being washed, you have bad dog agitators. They cost $5-$7 for a set of 4 and relatively easy to install in a whirlpool washer. Kenmore washers are more complex.
Per saperne di piùEvery washer that I know will spray water over the clothes while it spins but only for a short time. It’s all part of rinsing detergent from clothes. No matter what, the clothes should only be damp after cycle is complete and not dripping wet. Spraying water while spinning is a good way to help remove soap from clothes. Most of the soap is removed on the second fill up. (rinse cycle) During the last 5 minutes of spin time, no water should be spraying on clothes. Never add water to the washer while it spins. Only the washer knows how much water is safe to use before motor over loads and burns out. Also, a Kenmore washer will fill and agitate at the same time on a permanent press cycle. Water line is usually half way up before both happens.

Per saperne di piùThere are 2 different sets of rubber seals. The first set is for the motor to reduce noise and vibration. It fits into the top lid and bottom underneath the motor. The other set is for the roller brush. On each end of the roller brush are foam type seals to prevent hair from getting inside the ball bearings. The seals fit inside slots to hold them in place.
Per saperne di piùIf your dishwasher is draining and working fine until the final rinse water doesn’t drain, don’t worry. All is normal. Economy Dishwashers especially countertop dishwashers use residual heating. During the final rinse, the water is heated up extra hot to ensure clean and spot free dishes. Instead of draining this super hot water, it will save it in the bottom of the dishwasher to dry dishes. At this time, the dishwasher is in pause mode. After several minutes when the water temperature drops, it is no longer needed to dry dishes. The water is drained and cycle is complete.
