Get a temp gun and see if its actually overheating first. I would have done that before throwing in a can of head gasket fix. That stuff is nasty and only meant as a temporary fix. Why were the intake gaskets replaced?

I've seen this happen before. Because you restored using your husband's iCloud, it has his info stored. You just need to go into iCloud and make sure it's your specific login info and go into messages and make sure that iMessage's info is your info.

Check the LCD Thermal Sensor Cable (vertical sync cable) and the cable to your main hard drive. You didn't mention if you also changed the main hard drive or not.

Taking a look at your order it looks as though you accidentally ordered the PATA instead of the SATA enclosure. I will go ahead and reply back to your email to setup a return.

First thing to do is double check the connections. Those zif connectors are difficult. If you're still having issues it sounds like a defective part.

Sounds like the lock button next to the volume control got flipped. Toggle it in the opposite direction.
