The battery overheated and expanded, separating the screen from the phone enclosure causing the display to shine light everywhere.

Repair went really well. Followed the guide and had no real problems.
Il Mio Consiglio
Be very careful when removing the screws for the display cable housing, like the guide says one of the 1.7 mm screws is not magnetized and you can lose it easily.
