As stated in part 1, this is one of the 2nd generation PS3s with backward capability... and I come from a FIX-IT generation. My dad taught me a lot.

I took my time to make sure things were right. The hardest part wasn't the cleaning or the spreading of thermal paste, but re-connecting the ribbon cables. I have worked with them in the past, but these were more difficult. Everything else went well for 1st time try.
Il Mio Consiglio
To make sure of thermal paste coating, I spread very thinly on the CPU and GPU and also on the heat sink to reduce break-in time. Pay attention to the written instructions as well as the video because it makes things more clear. One example is the video doesn't tell you to set the heat gun on low to heat the chips. Take your time as I did because it's better to do it once a little slower than have to repeat steps when it doesn't work right.
