Rotor and stator broken?

Hi my front load samsung washer started to make a squeaking sound this morning.

I traced the sound to the rotor stator.

I flipped the covering on the rotor stator around and the drum turned with no sounds.

When the cover is on I hear a squeak. So the issue seems to be with the rotor stator.

I tried putting some grease on where the shaft joined the cover. Squeeked still there.

Now the motor is not spinning the washer at all.

I suspect the squeek was the stator failing.

Could I be missing something or is it likely the stator rotor?

Might have been a barring going bad, also some of the older type machines have a clutch mounted on the engine shaft or the drum drive. You may have got grease on the clutch pads.

Cleaned out the grease and it works again.

Sprt of. The whine is lesss but I can hear the motor and stator rubbing.

I am debating if the issue is the washing machine shaft has warped or the motor and/or stator warped.

Have you checked to make sure the cover you mentioned hasnt gotten bent someway and something is rubbing it?
