  1. Force Restart:
    • For iPhone 6: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake (Power) button at the same time. Keep holding both buttons until the screen turns off and then turns back on with the Apple logo appearing.
  2. Update Software via iTunes (or Finder on macOS Catalina and later):
    • Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable.
    • Open iTunes (or Finder on newer macOS versions).
    • Locate your device on iTunes or Finder.
    • Check if there is a prompt to update or restore your iPhone.
    • Choose "Update" to reinstall the iOS without erasing your data. iTunes or Finder will try to reinstall iOS without deleting your data.
  3. Restore iPhone:
    • If updating does not solve the problem, you might need to restore the iPhone. This will erase all data on the device, so it is important to have a backup.
    • In iTunes or Finder, instead of clicking "Update," click "Restore." This will download the software and completely erase your device and install a fresh version of iOS. After this, you can restore your data from a backup.
  4. DFU Mode Restore:
    • Device Firmware Update (DFU) mode is the most thorough restore method. This process can also help if the problem persists.
    • To enter DFU mode:
      • Connect the iPhone to your computer and open iTunes or Finder.
      • Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously for 8 seconds.
      • After 8 seconds, release the Sleep/Wake button but continue holding the Home button until iTunes says it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
      • Let go of the Home button and your screen should be completely black. If it’s not, try again.
      • From here, you can restore your iPhone using iTunes or Finder.
  5. Check for Hardware Issues:
    • If none of the above methods work, there may be a hardware issue with your iPhone. Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store or authorized service provider for further assistance.

Be sure to back up your iPhone to iCloud or your computer frequently, so you can restore your data if necessary.
