Phone thinks it's overheating... bad Thermistor?

I have an S22 Ultra, as soon as you plug the phone in it says to disconnect the plug because the phone is overheating... this even happens when trying to charge it wirelessly. Samsung store said the only repair is to swap out the motherboard, but I am nearly 100% sure it is a bad thermistor, how do I fix this myself?

Hi, I have the same issue. I just replaces the charging port board and still the same problem. Does anyone know where the thermistors on the main board are located? Will removing them sove the charging problem? The phone is obviously not overheating.

@scottdooley the location and the type of sthermistor are listed in the answer. Hopefully it does.

@billstewar91922 it has a few of those (I believe yours has 4, but can't currently verify this since). First one is on the battery, second one on the charging board. I would start by replacing one, then the other. The other 2 are on the main board, which makes it a bit more awkward since it will require soldering.

Update (01/10/24)

@billstewar91922 Samsung part number for the Thermistors is 1404-001724 which are THERMISTOR-NTC;100KOHM,4250K,1MWC,TP,0.6 and there are 2 on the main board. Reference designator for those on your board are TH7000 and TH7001

Thanks oldturkey. I ordered a new charging port daughter board off eBay, hopefully that's the bad one. I don't see any of these sights listing thermistors you can buy to replace bad ones :( If I buy another battery, does it come with the thermistor?

@billstewar91922 yes it does it is on the battery control board. Let me see if I can provide you with the "fine details" bout the components as well as the location on your board. Just in case.....

@oldturkey03 Thank you, looking forward to learning more. I bought a battery and a new NFC coil as well, official Samsung from a wholesaler. Paid less than $50 shipped, so the only one that would really screw me would be that 4th one on the mainboard. Fingers crossed it's not that one!

I replaced the charge port board and installed a new battery and still have this issue.

@jimlee12472 now it gets tough. Time to check the ones on the board. PITA unless you have steady hands and Eagle eyes
