Drum light not working Kenmore HE4 dryer

Hello --

We have a Kenmore Elite HE4 dryer, and it looked like the drum light burnt out. When I went to change the bulb, the glass on the bulb had come loose from the base of the bulb. I killed the breaker, used pliers to gently get the base out safely, and powered up again. Have tried three new light bulbs, but all three are not working in the dryer.

Is there a fuse in the dryer for the drum light bulb? Wondering if the first broken bulb may have blown a small fuse that needs to be reset or changed.

Sorry I can't be of much help on this one.

The parts list shows that the tech sheet which would have the wiring diagram is part # 8527830 and it is no longer available.

I can't find it online either. You may have better luck.

Looking at images of a Kenmore HE3 model (gas and electric) the light is wired directly between the door switch and the supply i.e. no fuses etc so it may be the switch, the lamp socket or a wiring problem. Worth a look maybe.
