The HP Pavilion DV7 is a 17-inch laptop that comes with a comfortable keyboard and good audio quality. The laptop also comes with a speedy processor and sufficient HDD storage. On the downside, this laptop is quite heavy, and the battery life isn’t great.

I installed windows 10 but it turned off mid installation, wont turn on

I tried to install windows 10, it worked, but mid installation it turned off from low battery, so i tried to boot up multiple times to try to see if it works again, doesnt work, turns out the drive got formatted already and nothing is on there, so im trying to go into bios but my screen is broken, i heard online that if i remoeve the screen it goes into bios, not working either, im trying to see if i can load a restore point from bios and how to load bios on the tv, i dont understand, I LEGIT ALREADY REMOVED THE SCREEN! ITS NOT WORKING! but yeah theres this big wire sticking out of it, it was the connector to the pins on the old screen, im trying to get that out, it looked as if it was connected to the speaker, i unscrewed every screw connecting the big frame on the computer, like that metal outline for the pc, not budging, i tried to remoe speaker so i can disconnect those weird wires, also i found some weird metal thingies, they are connected to a wire, but they hae no chip on it, im not sure if its a wifi conductor, so i need help with that. i will provide a pic of the pc rn

also when i booted it up i didnt put the battery in, it might be apart of the problem, just say if it is, im not sure if the entire bios battery is in the main battery but yeah. alright im gonna show a pic now

@tristan31196 Whow, you got a lot going on here.First off, I am astonished by somebody suggesting to remove the screen to get into the BIOS. But it is what it is. So let's recap. You tried to install Win 10 and it turned off because of low battery. Your drive got reformatted and now shows no OS. Now you can't get into the BIOS and you removed the screen. DO I have that right?

How are you going to see what your computer does with the LCD removed? You do have to have a display hooked up to your laptop.

It seems like you had lot's of trouble with removing the LCD. Everything came back together again or are you still having things disconnected etc. You will have to make sure that everything else is working before you can move on. Let us know that everything is back together as supposed to be. Make sure you have some kind of display.

You need to download the Service manual for your computer from here Triple check everything you have done is back together. Make yourself some kind of bootable USB drive. Do not yet worry about Windows 10 or whatever. First focus on your computer coming back on. I doubt this is solely a BIOS issue, however do replace the RTC battery. The service manual will show you how to do that.

You said that"also when i booted it up i didn't put the battery in," so what did your computer boot up into. What did it display?

We do NOT care about what your room looks like :-) but we need to see more than just the outside of your computer. For now, start by ensuring that everything hardwear wise is as it should be.

I have not even checked yet but did you verify your computer can run Windows 10?

The PC guru's on here are @jayeff @aactech and @nick so hopefully they catch this as well.

no it cant go into bios since the tv isnt the main screen it says

da

and yes it can run it, also thats the reason why i removed the main screen, for it to detect the tv as its main

da

but that clearly isnt working

da

@tristan31196 so replace your LCD. Put it back on. You need a display.

da

@oldturkey03 im using my tv, and the screen is completely broken..
