Can I replace rear 6 ohm speakers with 4 ohm?

I'm replacing the rear speakers in my car and the factory ones say 6 ohm. However its much easier to find 4 ohm. I'm looking at some cheap ones on amazon rated for 30rms, the original say 15w on the back so I assume that is the rms for the factory ones. Could this damage the radio (still going to be using the factory stereo) or should I be safe? I don't know anything about speakers.

Hi @carsman248

Not a good idea.

There is a risk of hardware damage to the amplifier in the stereo system. Connecting speakers which have a lower impedance than what the amp is rated for, may cause damage to the amp.

At the very least the sound will be distorted.

Then what should I do? Would it be better to use 8 ohm? Or do I have to find some 6 ohm?

Find some 6 Ohm speakers.

Using 8 Ohm won't be good either.

It mightn't damage the amp but the sound won't be good.
