Why is my household 0.5 HP pump motor is not able to lift the water?

@tbk99 is this a new pump? Has it worked before? What type, make, model pump is it? How is the plumping connected? What have you checked? Primed the pump to see if that works?

Most of the pumps cannot create vacuum in the beginning as there is no water in them. So they need priming. Add enough water in the pipes to have the pump full. You may need a non reversing valve to keep the water from draining out from the intake pipe to the tank or well.

In another way, you need a submersible pump.
