If you're unable to afford a new switch, you can use splice connectors and a toggle switch to make do until you can get one. Whole setup this way is ~$10. What you'll have to do if you do this is attach one splice to the power wire feeding the headlight switch, and the other to the wire for your headlights. Use a couple small pieces of wire to connect those splice connectors to the terminals on the toggle switch. Then when you need headlights just flip the switch. Used this setup for 2yrs myself on a ‘93 Chrysler new Yorker 5th ave.
