Hi

If you want to wipe the whole iMac do this

I’ve only ever done this with a wired keyboard but who knows a wireless one might work

Turn off or restart the Mac and when it turns on on the keyboard hold all at once alt or option(depending if your keyboard has it) Command and R and it should start internet recovery

Once you have waited out the timer with the globe you should be at a window that says MacOS utilitys, now you want to go to disk utility and wipe the drive in the iMac ,once you have done this hit the reinstall macOS and you should have a fresh band new copy of macOS installing

If you have any trouble please don’t hesitate to ask for help

Thanks:)

To save your data, you will need a Hard Drive/SSD with:

  • The same amount as or more storage than the Hard Drive/SSD currently in your Mac
  • The ability to connect via USB (if you have a SATA or IDE hard drive and you want to use it for this, you can buy an adapter)

To save your data, do the following:

  1. Shut down the machine.
  2. Plug in the hard drive/SSD. If you are using an adapter that requires extermal power, plug in the power supply and flip the switch to on.
  3. Press the power button, then immediately start holding Command+R.
  4. Keep holding Command+R until you see a window that says “MacOS Utilities”
  5. Double-Click on “Disk Utility”
  6. Click View>Show all volumes
  7. If the external Hard Drive/SSD isn't formatted as MacOS Extended Journaled (also known as HFS or HFS+), format it now.
  8. In the partition of your external Hard Drive/SSD, click “Restore”. When it asks you where to restore from, choose the partition “Macintosh HD”, then click “Restore”
  9. This process may take several hours. When it is complete, click “Done” or “Finish”, then shut down the machine and plug out the Hard Drive/SSD.
