Display black but showing a sliver
My display is mostly black and unresponsive, except for a small band at the top that works. I can see the mouse when it’s in that area of the display, but nowhere else. All the repair guides that I’ve seen are about completely back displays. Should I follow those, or is this a different kind of problem?

Hi,
Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop and check if its display is OK.
if it is then most likely the problem is in the laptop display or the cable connecting it to the motherboard
