upgrading the cpu to a i5 7600
I own a 2017 21.5” iMac, it’s running macOS Big Sur. Is it possible to upgrade the CPU to the Intel 3.5 GHz Core i5 7600 (non k version) is the socket compatible?
Questa è una buona domanda?

Why would you make such a small upgrade?
The better would be to go with a 3.6 GHz Core i7 (I7-7700)
Here’s the spaces on the i5 CPU’s:
All use a FCLGA1151 socket and are all part of the Kaby Lake family

does the k version work?
@pcduck - First as you didn't tell us your exact system I may have jumped a bit to far! The 21.5" iMac Core i5" 2.3GHz has a soldered CPU so it won't be possible to upgrade.
If you have one of these: iMac18,2 then you can upgrade the CPU.
Why are you fixated on the 3.5 GHz Core i5 (I5-7600) & 3.8 GHz Core i5 (I5-7600K) CPU's? I always go with the 3.6 GHz Core i7 (I7-7700)
well i really dont need it, i have on my main pc a ryzen 7 3700x, i m looking for the upgrade for my mac system, if i replace the whole logic board would it be possible
@pcduck - Here's one source for the needed logic board 2017 21.5" iMac parts
