base flashes "88", purchased new battery, old battery say charged

Uniden landline phone model D1483, flashes “88” in red on base. Old battery says charged but no luck, purchased new battery and am charging now. Please help! Joan

Hi,

Try resetting the base unit.

Not sure if this will work though but you can only try.

Disconnect the power from the base unit, press and hold the Delete key (garbage bin? symbol) for 15 seconds while plugging base unit power back in.

Hopefully this will reset all the settings back to factory default, so you will have to set them all up again
