Why does screen flickers and now it cant be turn on?

My macbook pro retina early 2013 initially had screen flickering. And after sleep mode, it’ll sometimes show a white screen and hang there. Now it cant even turn on. Any idea what could possibly be the issue?

Update (05/10/2020)

I've just tried it and the external and it works. The issue usually happens when I leave the laptop in sleep mode for awhile, and try to log back in after that.

When that happens the screen will sometimes just show a white page for awhile, restart and after some time it will show the log-in page with a few flickering events.

When the flickering happens, only the laptop screen flickers, and not the external display when in mirror mode. Any ideas on what could be the issue?

I am considering switching out the LCD LVDS cable and maybe the connector as well.

As heard in the second video There is also this wheezing sound from the top left side of the keyboard.

Lets try this first, connect an external monitor to your system and restart your system does the external work?

The vids are very useful! It clearly shows the flicker is not the back light but the displays image getting messed up. The high pitched squeal also is not good. Thats telling me the T-CON logic at the bottom edge of the display panel is also in trouble. I’m suspecting both the T-CON and the display cable (iDP) have become damaged from cleaning! You likely spray a glass cleaner directly onto the screen and then take a cloth to wipe it or use a wet wipe.

In either the dripping of the cleaner down to the bottom edge gets the logic down there wet! Repeated events builds up the damage.

I think you have your work cutout here! You might be able to recover the display by carefully cleaning the board and the iDP cable connector on the display assembly. The other option is replacing the display assembly. Finding one will be a challenge! MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2012-Early 2013) Display Assembly. Thank you so much for the amazing reply! I’ll definitely try that out tomorrow or on my upcoming offday. Im a rather newbie at self-fixing, and the guides are a huge help. Do you have any recommendations on to what to use for cleaning the board and connector?

It depends on what I find. salts & sugars only require distilled water, oils tend come off with 85% isopropyl alcohol, white vineger often cleans the copper sulfates (green) you do need to clean it off with the distilled water afterwards. I use other solvents as needed.
