Hand Blender broke unexpectedly (CRUX All-in-One Hand Blender)

My CRUX All-in-One Hand Blender (CRUX003) broke whilst in use. I was blitzing oats into oat flour at the time and so thought some of the dust may have got into the system, but I have since taken off the outer ‘shell’ and blown a hairdryer over it and it hasn’t helped. I know very little about electronics but would love to fix this rather than have to chuck it out and buy a new one. I’ve attached pictures of it.

Mines done the same and we been using one for years so know how to let it rest I think it must be a fault in them, we've had a bamix for 12 years and never had any trouble, I bought the crux as its much more powerful but it seems with power comes breakdown so not happy about that,as we have other crux products including a copper stand mixer

Hi @zoemdd ,

How long was the blender in continual operation before it stopped working?

A lot of stick blenders’ instruction manuals say that you should only run them in ~30 second bursts and then pause for a short while to allow them to cool, to prevent the motor from overheating and burning out.

The user manual for your blender also seems to indicate that ~30 seconds is the maximum running time for continual use before pausing.

Nothing looks untoward on the circuit board, so you may have to test the actual motor winding using a DMM (digital multimeter - Ohmmeter function) to see if it is still OK. You would need to disconnect the motor wiring from the circuit board so as to not get confused as to what you’re actually reading on the DMM. Always disconnect the power from a device when testing using an Ohmmeter

Having a sniff of the motor and deciding whether it has a burnt smell or not might also give a clue.

If the motor is burnt out you may be able to find a replacement motor by searching online using the motor’s model number. I can’t make out more the ARS 79? from the images but you should be able to see the complete number.

If the motor winding tests OK then you will have to do point to point static testing i.e. without the power connected, from the power cord plug through the circuit board and to the motor using an Ohmmeter to try and locate what the problem is.
