picure switches off after 1 to 2 hr sound still present
when left to cool for a couple of hrs picture comes back for 1 to 2 hrs
cant find any visible capacitor problems or bad solder any possible solutions

Try shining a torch at an angle close to the screen to check if there is an image on the screen at all.
It will be very faint, if it is there at all, so try it in a darkened room to help see it
If there is an image then you have a backlight problem.
After being on for a couple of hours it appears that something is getting too hot and failing. When it cools down it starts working again.
Try searching online for "LG (insert model number of TV) service manual" to hopefully find the manual as you will need it to start measuring voltages to find out what is happening when the picture disappears.
