Awful Noise and Inner Drum is Tilted
Have a GE Profile top loading washer that is approx 15 yrs old. Granted it has been a workhorse and has gone thru a whole lot of grandkids staying and visiting as well as normal every day use. This morning put a normal load of wash in, turned on, filled normally. When agitator started (or tried to start) it began making an awful very loud noise (almost sounded if bearings turned loose). By the time I got to it, the inner drum was tilted also. Immediately turned of, removed clothes and disconnected power.
Know nothing about appliance repair, but it sure sounded serious to me. With its age, is it even worth a repair call?
Questa è una buona domanda?
Hi,
What is the model number of the washer?

Sounds like the tub jumped off a suspension rod. This will happen if the load is seriously off balance. It will make some really loud noises in the process.
