I have a samsung galaxy s 4 mini phone.
When I turn it on it fires up as normal then after a few seconds it turns itself of again for no apparent reason, the battery is fully charged and the display is normal and it has not been damaged in any way. Can anybodt help?

So it doesn't happen when it is connected to the charger then?
If it doesn't happen then, it may point to a possible battery problem i.e. not holding its' charge under load or something similar.
Try starting the phone (without charger connected) in safe mode (should be the same for your model) and check if it stays on OK.
If it does then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem.
