I have a Whirlpool wtw5000dw1 and I'm trying to bypass the lid lock by cutting the wires. They are res white and blue. Which two should I cut?

Samantha Frost You get the diagram from the tech sheets which should have been somewhere on the back of your machine.
Your diagram does not list the color code but shows that your lid lock connects to J6 on your control unit PCB. You will need apply the jumper to whatever colored wiring attaches to J6 contact 1 and 3 (most likely red and white but I'd hate to guess and have you damage your machine or getting zapped)
Here is a spare tech sheet for you just in case you lost yours.

Thank you very much.
Did this work for you? I'm needing to do the same thing
Based on the spare tech sheet provided blue and red would be J6 contact j6-1 and j6-3 respectively. Just for clarification rather than the red and white that was mentioned above.
Was good information nevertheless couldn't find a YouTube content with a red, white and blue combination. This helped a whole lot, will be testing this out soon as my switch has stoped working, and I made a faulty bypass by connecting 2 wires and it fried my main board when it was plugged back in at a replacement cost of $150 USD.
It doesn’t work on the red white and blue wired whirlpool it does send a lock signal but the washer won’t do anything. You have to lift the top of the case that the lid is attached to and pull the lock mechanism off. There’s a springy piece of metal in it that you have to remove, it’s the actual lock. This guy has a good informative video on it. Just remove the thing he says you don’t need and put it all back the way it was. Don’t mess with anything else like he shows. My washer works fine now. https://youtu.be/dbb-PS5R_8s
Thanks Thomas, I brought a new lock and still clicks no rince.
I followed the link you provided and I'm up and running!
Thank you Thomas!
NONE ? why do you want to bypass it for it is there for a reason if i am think right I COULD BE WRONG IT IS THERE TO STOP ACCESS TO THE MACHINE WHEN IN OPERATION for the likes of kids / children messing around

also to stop water spillage if it is full if you notice it wont let you open the door for a certain time for that reason there is a float switch inside the machines drum that tells it not to open but go ahead if you want and good luck
Considering my kids are teens, and not idiots, I'm not that concerned, but thanks.
Did this work? Did you just strip and short RED and BLUE ??
I removed the defective switch and cut the wires at the switch. But I’m not seeing any activity on the control panel.
Did you have to reset the computer VIA the control panel ??
Thanks in advance.
Did it work I'm in the same situation
I was wondering if anyone knows how to bypass a 6 wire lid lock? What a pain in my ass
No I own a Roper with a red white and blue wire lock switch and I tried to just bypass the red and blue a moment ago and nothing happened the lock switch light just flashed on and off.

It runs the water in and wash but it will not stop washing
If you tie the re dehite and blue together it'll work. Turn on washer and try to start a load before put the 3 wire jumper in. ( It won't work yet) Turn it off, and plug in jumper. Turn on washer and start laundry until it turns on. So far I haven't had to do it more than 3 times before it'll start. Once started it has finished every load.

This did not work for me either, my washer starts to let out water for 3 seconds and then the lid lock flashes and it does nothing . Very frustrating considering I’m now on my 5th lid lock replacement , I’ve had this washer for 1 year and 3 months , this current lid lock lasted a whopping 2 months ….. I Really do not want to purchase a 6th . If anyone has a fix that works PLEASE SHARE🤞.
To think I purchased this machine because it wasn’t completely digital and had an agitator reminding me of the old school washers that were built to last (30 years longer then today’s)

You can’t bypass anymore by wiring. This video will show you what to do to get it working again with no parts cost. Just have to remove part of the lid lock mechanism.
