Camera won't pick up battery
Once the battery is placed inside the camera won't turn on unless we insert something to apply pressure onto the battery

Sounds like there is something getting in the way of the battery connectors, or causing them to stick. Follow this guide to open up the camera and check the battery connections for any signs of corrosion or dirt.
