How to make device beep when new messages
Can you please advise how to make Uniden Dect 6.0 answering machine beep when there are new messages.

This is from p.20 of the operating manual (click on “view operating manual” link on the page).
Go to Menu > Answering Setup > Message Alert.
“Have the system beep every 15 seconds when you have a new message; the beeping stops when you listen to all your new messages. (To mute the alert without listening to your messages, press any key on the base)”.

Thanks, that worked. Unfortunately, the beep is very soft and a long time between each beep so it won’t be heard. :(

Try to increase the volume of the beep by pressing the volume up button on the base station when the answer machine (and handset) is not in use.
I'm hoping as this increases the ringtone volume from the base station that it may also do the same to the message alert signal. Worth a try anyway.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an option to change the periodicity of the message alert beeps. It's either 15 seconds or Off.

You may be out of luck. It appears that the system is not designed to “beep” when a new message has been stored in the answer machine. It only gives a visual display on the base station and in the handset display. There are no settings shown in the manual to turn on/off an audible indication when a new message has been stored in the answer machine
According to the user manual on p.52 in the section entitled Listening to messages:
Using the base unit
When new messages have been recorded, the message indicator on the base unit flashes. (see image below).

Using the handset
When new messages have been recorded, “New message” is displayed.
