Can I upgrade or replace the SDD of 2017 MacBook Pro (function keys)?

I am planning to buy the new MacBook Pro Function Keys 2017. But it’s only available in 128GB and 256GB with no option of upgrading in my country.

Hence, I was thinking if I could replace the 256 SDD in MacBook Pro 2017 (function keys) model with 512 GB SDD in MacBook Pro early 2015 model.

Please give me solution, if there is any, for upgrading my SDD to 512 GB, or perhaps more, in the 2017 function keys model.

Thank you so much!

YES! But you must use the custom Apple SSD, unlike the older models Apple altered the physical design of the SSD so there is no options like the older systems.

No.

Apple created a different formfactor for A1708 (2016 2017). It is very different from their previous (since 2013) PCIe flashdisc formfactor.

Yes, we know...

The answer Aaron pointed to explained that and it offered one possible option. The comment I posted above offers other options in sizes.

Well, I’ve ordered an adaptor and Toshiba BG4 1TB 2230 nvme drive with all fingers crossed. Will post a review after receiving the stuff.

I know this question already has an answer, but if the proprietary SSDs are too expensive, you can actually buy an adapter that lets you use an M.2 SSD.

The SSD does have to be a specific size though, I think it just needs to have 2242 on the box and it'll fit. There's even another answer that mentions the same thing.
