In the case of your Kindle, I recommend that you totally disassemble it using these guides Amazon Kindle Oasis 8th Gen Motherboard Replacement Then clean every part with some 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. The guide was written for an iPhone but the same pretty much applies to any device. After you clean it and have it dried, replace the battery and then reassemble. Only then can you evaluate your Kindle for any other damage.
