What firewire chipset do I have?

I need to find out what firewire chipset I have so that I can match a compatable audio interface to my imac 27" i7 with 8 gb RAM (4x2).

I am trying to build a home studio that will maybe grow in time.

Please help. I am just a musician and this tech stuff is very overwhelming at times.

FireWire chipset: Hold down "Command + S" on startup to boot your Mac into single user mode. The chipset info is listed next to OHCI FireWire and will be listed as TI [Texas Instruments], Lucent [Agere] or Agere.

Thank you so much. I have not yet received my computer. It is being shipped as we speak but I will be sure to do that when it gets here. Do you know if the Agere chipset is experiencing difficulties? Can the chipset be replaced?

The chipset is on the logic board, any alteration will void your warranty. How about a question on what setup with what audio interface and device you want to use and toss it up. There's a lot of experience to draw from on this site.
