Screen cuts off after less than a second and stays off

Hi there, I have a 19inch technika lcd tv (Model LCD19-907) that i got more than 7 years ago. It's served me well. After a period of a few weeks of being turned off I plugged it back in again to set up as a secondary monitor for my pc set up. Now when I plug it in the LCD turns on for a second and then instantly cuts off to a blank screen a a small humming noise can be heard. I'd be sad to throw it out as a month or two ago i know it was still working perfectly for my parents.

Now I've taken the back off and can't see any dodgy capacitor caps (i'll attach photos) but honestly i'm in a bit over my head and have never fixed a tv before. Anyone have any advice for a quick cheap fix or see anything I can't see in the photos attached. Cheers!

Graeme M what exact model is your Technika monitor?

da

LCD 19-907 I'll try and put a link to a manual as an update to the question :)

I kept trying to add a link to the manual but the system kept marking as spam, it is relatively easuy to find by googling though. (sorry!)

where do you hear the "small humming noise"? Could it be the noise from the transformer on the power board? Listen don't touch:-)

Graeme M no worries about adding a manual unless it is a service manual :-) Anyhow since this is an off-brand resources for it are scarce. The issues that you describe are commonly related to the power board and I am trying to find the pinout for the connectors. If you can, post all the number markings for the power board. Take a look and see if you find a number like 17IPS02-1 or close to that. That would make your power board a Vestel board and it may be easier to find a schematic. My suspicion is, that this is most likely also being used in other equipment. Also, post some good images of the connectors etc.

At this point I am going with a bad power board.

Okay so I was right ;-) Your power board is a Vestel 17IPS02-2 and it is being used in numerous other brands. like a Hitachi L22DP03U and Acoustic Solutions LCDW22HD. This board apparently has issues with the diodes. You would have to check D800 D803 R805 C813 and check IC 800. Let us know what you find. you can of course also measure the connector PL807 according to the voltages shown on the schematic

I managed to fix this by unplugging the clips on power board and then reconnect…
