Fix Icloud lock / bad iemi iPhone 7

Hi!

I have I phone 7 that works except that it has ICloud lock on it.

I have another Iphone 7 logic board that dosent have Icould lock but i dont get light from my screen when i plug it in on that board

Is it posible to change parts from the "non-working" board to the "ICloud-locked" one?

If so, which parts do I need to change? only CPU and Baseband?

Can I get rid of the ICloud block without changing any parts?

so IF I would try this really advanced repair in the iCloud-locked one I would only need to switch out the CPU, BB and EEPROM or are there other parts?

That classifies as spam ella jona.

The iCloud lock is permanent. Yes, in theory, you can move the CPU, BB, EEPROM etc. from one board to another. In practice, it is a very advanced repair and requires a lot of skill.

It would be much simpler to have the board with the defective backlight circuit repaired and not waste time on the iCloud locked board. Regardless of what you do though, you will have one good board and one iCloud locked board.

okay... is there another way to get rid of the icloud-lock without changing all the parts? have looked around a little but most of the ways seem like spam.

Can I reprogram the board?

if yes

what do i need (pls link something if you want :) )

I really want both of the boards to work :(

Unfortunately, no. iCloud Lock is a very effective mechanism.

So you can change the cpu or w.e. The Lil chip is that holds that info u say a lot of skill but without knowing n.e. Thing I watched a YouTube video showing that all u have to do is get to the chip then heat it and pry very carefully then clean surface with the wire he was using and some sort of liquid it had all the info on the tool kits u would need looked pretty straight forward just tedious

Is there any programming involved?

da

@marinetech if all it would take that " all u have to do is get to the chip then heat it and pry very carefully then clean surface with the wire he was using and some sort of liquid" then everybody would be doing it. Right? So, why don't they? Have you tried to do one of those "transplants" yet? If it is really that easy, I am sure people like @refectio or @arbaman @rany could to stuff like that blindfolded with one arm tied behind their backs.

da

@oldturkey03 I heard that @rany or @refectio can also do some juggling while replacing chips if you free the tied hand from the back. I've tried a couple of times but I believe I'm too old to learn that =;)

da

@arbaman @oldturkey03 , no that only applies to @rany :>).

I flip them like burgers.

Umm wait no what?

Seriously though, prying the CPU off the board without bending or damaging it nor the board is the most difficult task.

Reballing is pretty straightforward.

Soldering back without bridging balls/pads and causing shorts is the second most difficult task.

Even the most skilled people have a low yield because often the CPU may be damaged during removal or re-soldering.

Note that you need a skilled technician (monkey see monkey do) to perform the task. Not a skilled repair person as that includes troubleshooting for example. So many good repair tech are bad at CPU reballing and many good CPU reballing techs are bad at repairing.

Depending on average income in the country the tech lives in, and value of the device being repaired, it may or may not be economical to perform this task. That's why it is less common in North America and Europe, where hourly rates are high. Unless the tech is highly experienced and can work fast with high* success rates.
