SP 1020 Skytex tablet

Hi,

Does the tablet work OK when the charger is connected and switched on? Does the tablet indicate that the battery is being charged?

If it works with the charger connected:

then it may be that the battery is failing and needs to be replaced.

If it doesn't work with the charger connected or show that it is charging:

then problem could either be a faulty charger, a faulty or loose power socket in the tablet or a fault in the systemboard.

Have you tried a different compatible charger?

If you don't have another compatible charger or access to one do you have a DMM (Digital Multimeter) or access to one?

If so you can use the DMM's Voltmeter function to prove that your charger is working correctly. Just place the Voltmeter test leads across the charger plug's inner and outer connectors to measure the output from the charger when it is connected to the wall outlet and switched on. It should measure 5V DC.

If the charger is OK then you need to open the tablet to further diagnose the problem.
