charged but cant turn on
i using the lighting cable provided charged for whole night but it does not turn on.
During charging, beats x only beeping red light, what does it means?

To reset your headphones
- Hold down these two buttons for 10 seconds:
- Power button
- Volume down (–) button
- When the LED indicator light flashes, release the buttons. Your earphones are now reset and ready to be set up with your devices again.

still didnt work
Didn't work, I think the switch is broken. Couldn't switch it of before i started charging.
Put on the charger whike doing it it worked for me
Held it down for 10 seconds, nothing, released then pressed the two buttons again. Worked!

For everyone who these other tips didn't work for , i verified my software was up to date and tried the reset, however these dint work. i couldn't even get any light from my beats x.
What did work is i pinched the base of the rubber connecting the power button to the charger port, and stroked it from Charger port to power button. I was hoping that maybe there was a loose wire inside and needing to be reconnected. IT WORKED! hopefully this helps everyone else!

i was also facing the same issue, i have encountered a solution for this issue
i went to http://your.beatsbydre.com/#/ and updated my firmware
then i reset my beats X then i turned it on it searched to connect my earphones with phone it worked

That’s crazy , worked for me
My case sounds like kazzos’ - light comes on when I charge and blinks when I reset, so not a loose connection, but after it finishes resetting, the unit still won't turn on. Will try to update firmware on pc (since I don't have a Mac).
UPDATE: Downloaded the Updater and successfully installed the latest firmware (7.0.3), which tells me battery is 97% charged. Just contacted apple support and they say I have to bring it in.

Just plug in a charger and move it upwards and downwards and to the sides until the light, mostly the pulling the charger connector downwards does the trick it will only stay aslong as there is pressure

just squeeze the rubber part between charger port and on/off button (that hangs around your neck) all the way. It works for many of us!

This really works!, It just magically turn on and work as normal. Mine able to charge but I cant turn on, it is like as if the power button is failing. but after an 4second squeezing the entire rubber cables from charger port to powerbutton it just resurrected from the dead. bunch of thanks!

I held power button till they reset. Without letting go of the power button (led should be off) hold middle button 15 seconds when it robooted mine stopped blinking. Let it charge fully (may need to hold power button down 30 sec if blinking starts again.) then works again. hope this helps someone

I have tried this method and many others to get my BeatsXes functioning again and nothing ever works. The most hope I've had is plugging them into my Mac with the Updater running and then doing the "serious" reset by pressing the power button and the middle button on the inline remote and holding both at the same time for about 30 seconds. They power off after 15 seconds but I keep holding the buttons just in case. Then, I let go and after a few more seconds (during which, the LED blinks red and white), the Beats Updater recognizes them and they seem to be charging but the battery level never seems to increase (according to the Beats Updater which shows the same 1 of 5 dots on the battery indicator).

yes press these buttons for longer and the red 'breathing' changing light will be on (it's still going strong gonna see how it goes after a couple of hours maybe - i left it unused due to a lost earplug now couple weeks later its not charging anymore)
oh the red 'breathing' light is gone again after 2-3 minutes

Best one I've found that has worked for everyone who hasn't been able to get all the other ones to work. hold your power button down as you plug it in and it resets. I just got mine, plugged them in and nothing happened, couldn't connect them or see any lights at all. Everything I tried didn't work, doing the neck band press, the reset power and volume, power And answer, and all the button pressing, taking a crap on them, nothing worked. That is until I found that one and it works now for the very first time, like a Virgin…

Yeah this one worked (just for a moment) for me too, I got the red white breathing light and then a continuous white light. But still my iPhone cant detect them. Anybody knows the solution for it?

I fitted a replacement battery from AliExpress and it works better than new. Here is how to fit it and a link of what I ordered. I ordered two, but they also sell them individually.

My beats x are not. Working at all and I send them off to get. Look at but they didn’t look at them and it is stressing me out and they are brand new and they are not turn on when charged

Mine seems to charge, the light is now white but as soon as I unplug and try to turn them on - nothing. Tried reseting - nothing.

I’d reset doesn’t work PLUG HEAD PHONES INTO COMPUTER iOS 10 or later it will automatically update !!!! PROBLEM SOLVED. The stupidest thing ever I know , I’ve been stressing all day over this

Hi All! I just encountered this issue this morning. Turns out you do need to download the Beats updater. I downloaded to my laptop (I have a pc), connected my headphones and voila! The headphones were recognized and the software updated. Issue resolved. Just wanted to share because I had no clue that all this needed to be done with headphones. Who knew! :)

Turned out that my beatsX were defective and they were replaced free of charge because the warranty was still in effect.

If you sweat heavy, your going to have to replace them. This happened to me more than once. Buy a buy a pair of work out headphones. I've owned 3 Beat's X and the wired version 3 times and so far they all fail in the same way for the same reason. As for the beats x, two purchased and one replacement from apple. When i took them to the gym they failed it within days they didn't auto connect, would randomly disconnect, then the play pause button stopped working, then the volume randomly changed. The last step was them not turning off or connecting at all. It sucks that they can't put up with a little sweat, they are delicate fashion headsets... but meanwhile a pair of 20-30 headphones will last a year... if you have a headphone jack or the lightening adapter... but then you didn't by these to plug them into your phone. Sigh.
