Why does the battery light come on but computer dont turn on

Hi,

Try the following:

Remove the charger from the laptop (if connected)

Remove the battery from the laptop.

Press and hold the power button on the laptop for 30 seconds and then release it.

Connect and switch on the charger then try and start the laptop. (leave the battery out at this stage)

If it starts allow it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop.

Wait until the HDD activity settles down and then shutdown the laptop in the normal manner.

When the laptop has shutdown, switch off the charger and disconnect it from the laptop.

Re insert the battery into the laptop.

Reconnect and switch on the charger and start the laptop.

If it starts allow it to boot all the way to the Windows desktop.

Wait until the HDD activity settles and then check the charge state of the battery.

If it is charging allow it to fully charge before switching off the charger and disconnecting it from the laptop.
