The pump cuts out after a few seconds. Everything else OK

The pump cuts out after a few seconds. Happens with or without a capsule being present. The only way I can get the required volume is by holding down the button (right hand one). Heating / delivery volume and speed are normal.

Simon, I have a similar problem and posted a similar question yesterday. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you but was wondering if you ever got to the bottom of the issue since your question was posted some time ago.

My 3 mth old Inissia was working properly. yesterday i descaled and then ran clean water. after that i tried to make coffee the lights come on but the motor doesnt whirr.

i tried unplugging and restarting and resettting but the machine doesnt make any sound of movement.

pls help

da

I’ve just tried this, but it continues to deliver an espresso level when I press the lungo button. It means to deliver a decent cup, it takes 5 presses. So frustrating!

The pump will not work on my De'Longhi Nespresso™ Inissia EN80. machine. No water flow. Has anyone a suggestion please. Thank you

da

@Veronica Hauri :maybe a broken capacitor? Replacing it is similar as here. Or a broken pump?

To restore your machine to factory settings so you receive the standard amount of water, please follow the

instructions below:

Turn off the machine.

Hold the Lungo button down while turning on the machine.

Your Nespresso is now restored to factory settings

I attempted to reset my machine and this didn’t resolve the issue. However I hadn’t de-scaled my machine before. Hold both espresso and lungo buttons to enter descale mode for 3-5 seconds. It took a few recycles (it should run through the entire tank without stopping) of the water, before that machine kept stopping but now works perfectly running through the entire tank in descaler mode without stopping.

Same, mine had to be descaled before it would allow me to run. Thanks for sharing!

Hold down the button until the desired volume in the cup is reached then let go. The light should blink 3 times, meaning the volume is stored, so it only needs 1 press of the button in future, until you reset the volume. (by holding down the button -which you must've done accidentally)

Thank you, David! I've tried to solve this issue for months and nothing else had worked until I did as you said.

Hi Nick,

I haven't solved the problem but I've run clean soapy water through the system ( just filled the reservoir and collected and returned it several times)...this seems to have improved the situation. I know there is a flow valve in the guts of the machine but I don't want to open it just yet!

Hope that might improve your situation!

Warm soapy water? No bueno, use a descaler to clean the machine. Nesspresso sells one, I’ve used my Nespresso Citiz just about every day for 8 years & it works like a champ. I use Durga Swiss espresso descaler my machine looks & works like new.

Use neat vinegar to descale. I think it works just as well. Just run it through the machine several times without a capsule in. You can also re-use the vinegar several times.

I had this exact same problem. No matter what I tried, resetting the machine, or programming, turning off at the outlet switch etc, I was unable to change the volume that poured. The lungo would pour for around 5 or 6 seconds then stop.

I ran a de-scale cycle with de-scaling solution as per the instructions. This instantly improved the flow rate of the machine and I was able to program as normal after finishing the cycle.

Nespresso recommend cleaning every 3 months or 300 capsules so worth trying this before looking for other issues IMHO.

Did you have to hold the Lungo button for 5sec then, after youve plugged it in again?

All my buttons won’t light up, only one button puts out the coffee but you have to hold it down? The milk won’t work also. I think it is stuffed

I had exactly the same problem as in whenever i pushed the lungo button for a normal cup off coffee the water would only pump out for roughly 6 seconds and then stop.I tried the factory reset numerous times and it didn’t make any difference.

What did work was filling the Nespresso water container up with boiling hot water from my kettle.

My theory is that there is something wrong with the Nespresso hot water temperature control and it has become broken or corrupted and therefore effects the volume of water that comes out of the machine.

Anyhow my Nespresso machine now works normally as long as i fill the water container up with hot water from the kettle and has saved me the hassle of buying a new machine.

By the way my Nespresso machine is 5 years old.
