A heating pad or a heat gun. :)

Very, very, very careful use of a heat gun at that!
Yea, always use it on low.
I used to use a craft heat gun, hotter than a hairdryer but not as hot as a proper heat gun. It works very well. Only issue it is bright pink and resembles something else entirely! 😳
I know this is a bit late ;>)...
If you are a shop and will be doing iPad repairs on a regular basis, then a heated mat station like this is the preferred solution.
However, if this is for a one-off, the these "Magic Bags" work really well. This one is large enough to cover an entire iPad making it perfect for a digitizer replacement and you can use it at home when you have sore muscles.

I think the heated Mat is definitely the way to go if you're doing a lot of them.
I used the back of a stoneware plate taken out of the dishwasher after the drying cycle was done. It was quite warm and stayed that way for a long time and did the job fine. Based on previous battery replacement projects, I thought the back of the phone would have to be pried out of attachment fittings on the phone body, but in fact it was mostly held on with glue, so heating and alcohol along with suction as described on this site are the way to go. Also you should purchase the OEM double sticky tape to reassemble the device nicely after the battery replacement.

Great suggestion. We have a few ceramic plates to protect surfaces from hot pots. I will heat one up on my griddle, 140℉ as a starting point, and work from there.
Thanks.
You can follow our guides on using a hair dryer and heat gun, good luck!

Instead of oven, microwave or even heat gun, you can also heat it in a water bath.
MAKE SHURE THAT THE IOPENER IS NOT ONLY TAKEN OUT OF THE BOILING WATER BUT ALREADY AT AROUNT 70°C BEFOREAND.
But even if you miss the right instant, this ensures that the iOpener never gets hotter than 100°C.
This is easier and saves energy.

Well unfortunately perseverance! Necessity! And not even five minutes into a phone repair! My iOpener broke! Apparently the adhesive really sealed down well when I replace the screen in September for this person and then they accidentally broke the screen again. I was trying to figure out how to get it open after putting my iOpener in the microwave ( and I don't recommend more than a minute, I did a 1.5m and I don't like this microwave ) ... I came back to a gooey mess. Trying to get in there with the guitar pics only I couldn't get anything. then I thought well maybe if I heat up some water and use a paper towel or sponge? well I was waiting for the microwave to finish it occurred to me a Ziploc baggie! or in this case storebrand baggie! with double zippers! It worked I recommend the half size snack bags but in a pinch the sandwich bags work. I also recommend the double zipper variety.
I should also say I only filled the bag half full, basically an iPhone width with Water about one paper cups worth. I microwave the water for one minute.
The upside of this method is that it works in a pinch and it can also be adapted to different sizes of devices with larger bags.
If you could find something that's a little bit thicker it would be better for reuse Especially as the plastic gets thinner when it's hot. I'm almost thinking one of those silicone/rubber hot water bottle thing.
