Using iPhone battery port to get a little charge for my device.

I am working on an emergency device that is rather tiny and needs a small amount of electricity when in use.

I wanted to have an app on the iPhone that would Bluetooth communicate with the device but I wanted to keep the product small by getting the electricity from the Apple battery by plugging in a jack from my device into the iPhone charging port.

Would this work?

@alexxgh most likely not since the design on the iPhone is not meant to out power to the charge connector. What iPhone model did you have in mind?

Any iPhone really. I'm wondering about the possibility of using the iPhone battery port to get a little charge for my device.

It is possible. I would buy something like this or like this and reverse engineer it to see how it is powering up from the lightning port.

That said, I already repaired iPhones that had their charging circuit &&^&@@ up from such a device. Either it is badly made, or the power draw is too important, or the reverse current protection of the iPhone is getting damaged (I could be saying anything, research it).

Good luck @alexxgh.
