Master and slave disks

I replaced the original hard drive on my Mac Pro early 2008 with an SSD drive, which made a big improvement the speed of the machine. I now have OSX 10.5 (for legacy software use), Boot Camp and Windows 7 installed on a spare 320GB hard drive and the original 500GB hard drive as a backup disk.

The problem is, Windows will only start up if I remove the original 500GB hard drive, presumably because it's still the Master drive and the others are slaves. How can I make the SSD the Master drive, or is the problem somewhere else?

his sounds like a boot order problem. as mayer says the master slave issue went out with the older drive. SATA has no issue there

Master and slave drives were issues related to IDE, ATA & PATA drives, SATA drives do not have this issues. So look elsewhere.
