Red and Green lines on MacBook Pro Display
Good evening everybody. I've got a issue with a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro 5,2 and was hoping that some of you that have a lot more board level experience could give me some suggestions. About a 2 week ago the screen has begun having vertical lines on the display, red for where the white should be and green for black. There was no damage or spills to the computer and this only occurs after 5-10 minutes max of operating. Somethings so far I've tried....
- Problem persist during safe boot.
- Problem does not occur or go away while moving the clamshell through the range of motion
- No overheating- Runs great
- Apple hardware test and ASD indicate no problems
- LVDS cable is seated appropriately and does not affect display issues.
- No obvious damage to the board on either side
So here is the weird thing. If I press on the left speaker, in the area of the USB ports the problem will go away. Let go and the lines come back. I was wondering if there is a short in the board that runs behind or under this area. I don't have a schematic to check and not that i would be able to tell anyway. Well thanks in advance for the help!!!!
