My go pro hero 3 is not recognising the mini Sd card. Message displayed is "SD ERR"

Hi, Has the SD card worked before in your camera? Have you tried a different SD card or tried reading the SD card using a card reader connected to a PC? If it is a new card have you checked that it is not locked and has been formatted by the camera?
