Good places to buy replacement screens?

I'm looking for a good place to buy replacement parts. Id love to order off of here at ifixit but I have to pay for overseas shipping as I am in the UK.

I don't want to buy any off of eBay because I know they'll all be a load of rubbish. I've seen some decent ones on Amazon with more reliable branding but I was ideally hoping to get Apple original parts if possible. Also, I'm not looking for anything too expensive as I still need to make a profit on my repairs.

Anyone have advice on this?

Thanks very much.

Hey August,

Great question! It's important to find screens that are both cost-effective and quality-driven. iFixit has great quality screens but we're a little pricey on the retail side. If you're a repair business you can and should check out iFixit Pro, where you can get access to wholesale parts and tools. It won't help on the shipping side from our United States store, but perhaps you can mitigate that by joining Pro and purchasing from our EU store (http://eustore.ifixit.com)

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I'm not a business.

Ah, I see, my apologies for the confusion.

There's lots of quality suppliers out there. To me, warranty is what's most important. Everything eventually breaks, what is the company who sells the product going to do about it when it does. iFixit has a Lifetime Guarantee, something very few others have. But you can probably find a supplier who offers at last a 1 year or 3-6 month promise on their screens.

No need to apologise. I have been looking for places that offer warranty. A website that caught my eyes was "LL Trader". Have you heard of these people?

da

I haven't heard of them, but looking at a handful of photos of their parts isn't that impressive. Missing some of the smaller pieces like a proximity sensor box, earpiece gasket, centering ring, etc. These usually can be worked around temporarily but cause a problem down the line.

I'm also suspicious when any company is selling parts with an Apple logo on it. By law the only thing that can have the Apple logo on it is genuine OEM parts, and at that price this is not a genuine OEM part, Apple doesn't like to share their parts with anyone anyways.

I see. I shall avoid them then. I'll keep on the lookout for those smaller parts.

Sure thing, this image shows three highlighted areas on the top of an iPhone screen. This one is an iPhone 6, but this applies to basically iPhone 5 and newer.

The red circle represents the Centering Ring which keeps your front camera in the right position so it's not obstructed by te frame of the screen or bumped out of place.

The blue circle represents the proximity sensor box (prox box) which is used to hold the sensor that tells the phone to lock the screen when you make a call and adjusts brightness depending on your ambience.

The white arrow points to the earpiece gasket which holds a mesh covering that you can see on the front-side of the screen. This ensures audio comes through to your ears clearly but not abrasively and that the secondary microphone (Siri) can hear you properly.
