Vacuuming microphone hole only fixes it temporarily!?
Culprit guess: I dropped my iPad few times; I sometimes use alcohol/glasses cleaner (some kind of volatile detergent) to gently clean the iPad's surface with a soft cloth, so it could have gotten into the mic's orifice. But I didn't notice right away to tell which is most likelly to be the cause of malfunction.
When I noticed the mic wasn't working, all I got was noise. I thought it was dead after trying all known workarounds: vacuuming, blowing, shaking, warming and cooling next to the mic. Months later, I gave the vacuum another try, at full power. It completely came back to life. But after a few days it gradually went from a clear loud sound to an almost inaudible sound, still very clear though. I vacuumed it again, and it fixed as before. But only temporarily, as before.
And it's been like that since then, going back and forth. I'm puzzled. All I can say with absolute certainty is that it has nothing to do with dust.

All I can say is that I tried vacuuming, blowing, shaking, cooling and warming the mic, and only vacuum had something to do with it. Everytime I use it the mic comes back to life, but it gradually goes back to an almost inaudible state, though the recordings still come very clear.
Only thing I can say with absolute certainty is that it isn't related to dust. Any thoughts at all? Is there any other information I can provide?
